I’m thoroughly confused by Gov. Dayton’s actions. He and members of his party have complained that the Republican majority has presented a budget full of cuts. Let the facts present the truth: During this time of fiscal crises, he was given a record-setting 6 percent budget increase. His favorite agencies, overseeing K-12 education and health care, get even larger increases.
While Dayton now demands an additional $2 billion, he refuses to say where or how he would spend it.
To make up for the shortfall, he proposes to tax the rich, making Minnesota’s best producers the highest taxed in the nation. Have we not driven enough businesses, jobs and capital from this state and nation?
Isn’t it interesting that an ad campaign spending a million dollars and funded by the benefactors of his largess demand still more money?
The governor should end the confusion and sign the proposed record-setting budget, lest more damage be done to our fragile economy.
Right On
